SUMMIT Took Pro Bono Case for A Senior Citizen In Needs

 2018年1月2日上午，上海金英律师事务所内充满着欢声笑语，受援人卞某（女）及其儿子范某向本所的丁慧英律师送来一面大红锦旗，上书“法律援助公平正义，倾情关怀务实真诚”，诚挚表达其对丁律师的感谢，对其专业而周到的法律服务给予高度评价。

On the morning of Jan. 2^nd, 2018, the recipient Ms. Bian and her son came to SUMMIT and presented a banner to Miss Ding, an attorney at law of SUMMIT. The banner means the gratitude of the recipient to Miss Ding for her professional and thoughtful legal service.

此事缘起去年十月丁律师承办的一起关于相邻关系纠纷的法律援助案件。卞某和周某相邻而居，都是同一栋单元楼的业主。卞某房屋位于走廊的最里侧，其出入必须经过周某家的门口。2006年，周某买房入户时将原本向内开启的大门换成向外开启的防盗门，该防盗门不仅严重影响了卞某的日常通行，而且危害卞某的人身安全。卞某系八旬老人，曾经多次发生其经过走廊时因周某家突然外开防盗门而被撞倒的事件。该纠纷多年协商未果，且经居委会多次调处，均未能化解。无奈之下，卞某将该纠纷诉至法院。

The dispute is between Ms. Bian and Mr. Zhou. They are neighbors. The apartment of Ms. Bian is in the end of the corridor and she must pass right by the door of Mr. Zhou’s apartment. Mr. Zhou changed the inward-opened ordinary door to an outward-opened anti-theft door when he bought the apartment and moved in it in 2006. The anti-theft door does not only affect the daily walk of Ms. Bian but also harm her safety. Ms. Bian is nearly 80 years old, and there have been several incidents that Ms. Bian is run down by the anti-theft door opened suddenly. The dispute has been negotiated a solution for several years but always failed. Reluctantly, Ms. Bian filed a complaint against Mr. Zhou.

丁律师承办这起案件后，热情接待卞某的法律咨询，悉心询问案情，经过多方调查取证，积极为卞某收集有利证据，与承办法官沟通本案事实和相关法律依据，最终，法院判决支持卞某的全部诉求，这起相邻关系纠纷案终于尘埃落定。卞某得知其胜诉的喜讯后，这位耄耋老人喜出望外，不辞辛苦，为表谢意，便出现了本文开头的暖心一幕。

Miss Ding handled the case with great care. After collecting the evidences, communicating with the judge about the truth of the case and the relevant laws and regulations, Miss Ding resolves the dispute. As the ending of the dispute, the judge agreed all the claims of Ms. Bian.

Miss Ding always offers free legal aids for the vulnerable groups, such as women, children, the old, the sick and the disabled, since she became a lawyer in 2010. Meanwhile, Miss Ding is also the specially invited mediator for Pudong People’s Mediation Center. And there is a consensus view about her that she is responsible and careful for her work.
